Meet Our Hislop & Lepak Family Dentistry Team

Dr. Andrea Hislop, a native of Michigan, has been in the dental field since the early 2000s, beginning as a dental assistant while taking courses to pursue a Post Baccalaureate degree in Physics and Secondary Education. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Biology at the University of Detroit Mercy. During her stint as an assistant, she fell in love with Dentistry, switched her career path, and returned to her alma mater to obtain her Doctorate of Dental Surgery at the University of Detroit Mercy’s School of Dentistry.

She has a sincerity for helping those in need. During her senior year of undergrad, she organized and led a group of over 50 college students from several Metro Detroit campuses to aid in post-Hurricane Katrina relief, giving their spring break to gut and paint houses of residents of New Orleans and the surrounding area affected by the natural disaster. After graduating, she dedicated a year of her life to campus ministry in Metro Detroit.

A lifelong learner, Dr. Hislop enrolls in study clubs and continuing education courses to keep current. She is meticulous and fosters a positive and peaceful environment. Dr. Hislop takes time with her patients, with personalized plans, after discussing with her patients their hopes and goals. She is eager to treat kids and to instill a desire to have a healthy smile. Dr. Hislop is a proponent of promoting oral health to foster oral education and preventative practices.

She loves spending time with her husband, Jason, and their three young children. They enjoy walking in the woods with their collie. In her spare time, she will garden, read or paint. She uses her creativity to bless family or friends with floral arrangements for their weddings, from past experience as a florist. She is an active member of her church, along with her husband, helping to build it in its early years. Dr. Hislop is involved in the children’s and women’s ministry, taking pleasure in painting props for the latest Christmas children’s production.

Hi! My name is Debbie and I’ve been working at the office since 2015.  My main responsibility is making sure everything is running smoothly at the front desk, which in turn helps the office as a whole run efficiently. 

When I’m not at work, I like to hike, bike ride, play with our 3 dogs, and travel the United States with my family. 

Hello, my name is Kattee, and I am privileged to be one of the Dental Hygienists here at Hislop & Lepak Family Dentistry.  I am a mom to one incredible daughter at Commerce Elementary (“Go Cougars!).  On my time outside the office, I enjoy doing crafts with my daughter, going on family vacations, and hanging with my 120 lb. dog Miggy, who is the sweetest boy.  My favorite part about working at our office is the sense of community.   Meeting and getting to know patients who have been coming to our office for decades—some bringing new family members of the next generation, whom I hope to watch grow—is such a great feeling!

Hi, I am Cyndy.  As a Registered Dental Hygienist, I love seeing my patients achieve and preserve their best smile.  I graduated from Ferris State University and have been practicing dentistry for over 30+ years. I am not a regular here, but I have treated many patients and their families for over 10+ years with the office staff. I typically help when someone needs a day off, has an emergency or the office needs to add an additional schedule.  I enjoy building relationships with my patients and educating them on the importance of overall oral health.  It is my pleasure to be a part of the dynamic and fabulous team at Hislop & Lepak Family Dentistry.

I joined the team as a Dental Assistant in January of 2021.  I became certified in Dental Radiology through the Michigan Dental Association.   I enjoy nature, music, animals, plants, and trying new hobbies.  When I’m not at work, I spend my time playing with my pets, spending time outside, or traveling.  You can ask me about my recent travels!  My favorite part of my job is working with a group of such wonderful people.
